LeverageTek is actively seeking a Senior Project Manager for a 12-month contract with its Ottawa-based customer.

Key Tasks

  • Develop and maintain the project plan for each project. (Including documentation of scope, goals, schedule and project tasks).
  • Ensure tasks are delivered on-time.
  • Manage project resources and the delivery of tasks related to the project schedule(s).
  • Hold regular project meetings. Publish meeting agendas, maintain action items lists, risk and issues logs, briefing notes when required, decision records and weekly updates to all management.
  • Assist in the development of performance indicators to measure and report on the project(s) against the established project plan(s).
  • Manage budgets and reporting on budgets.
  • Create reports as required for management and senior management on the progress of the transition(s).
  • Work with IT to define the appropriate test plans, UAT plans, deployment plans and communication plans; and
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, internal or external.

Key Qualifications

  • Must have 10 years of demonstrated experience working in a senior role in project planning, coordinating activities and logistics, status briefing and establishing contingency plans
  • Must have 5 years of experience years working with MS Project and Project Server, creating, tracking and updating project schedules and reporting
  • Must have 3 years of experience successfully leading Information Technology transition projects such as SharePoint Online transitions

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a minimum of seven years of experience in IT Project Management.
  • Experience analyzing business issues and providing recommendations to management.
  • Experience writing clear and concise reports and briefing materials with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications including advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project skills.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure, work on multiple projects simultaneously, adapt to change, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to understand clients' needs.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate concepts and results to non-technical and business audiences.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment; and
  • Ability to lead and manage resources.
