Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AI Development Platform Engineer to join our team on a 1-year fixed-term contract. This hybrid role is based in Montreal, with an expectation of three days onsite per week. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building scalable software platforms, Kubernetes, API development, and experience with Generative AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop tooling and self-service capabilities for deploying AI solutions.
• Enhance developer experience for building and deploying AI applications.
• Build reusable, scalable solutions for Generative AI use cases.
• Utilize Kubernetes/OpenShift for containerized workloads.
• Manage container registries, packaging, and GitOps deployment.
• Integrate with large-scale vector stores for embeddings.
• Provide guidance on Generative AI tools, models, and libraries.
• Implement GenAI solutions with a focus on Agentic Orchestration.
• Contribute to design decisions for AI platform architecture.
• Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Python (Flask or FastAPI preferred).
• Strong understanding of data engineering (SQL, NoSQL, Kafka, Redis).
• Experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift and RESTful service development.
• Knowledge of multiprocessing, multithreading, and async I/O.
• Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, Open Telemetry (Grafana, Prometheus, etc.).
• DevOps experience including CI/CD (Jenkins), GitOps.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Understanding of ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Secure coding practices and cloud-native application development.

Desired Skills

• Experience with microservices architecture and cloud deployment patterns.
• Familiarity with state sharing in distributed systems.
• Knowledge of various database engines (SQL, Redis, Kafka).
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLMs, and embeddings.
• Understanding of Agentic Orchestration and frameworks like LangChain.
• Experience with ModelOps/ML Ops/LLM Ops and SRE practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering and development.
