Overview

Ciot is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager / Account Manager to lead our wholesale slab distribution business in the Ottawa market. This role is responsible for all aspects of market coverage, with a key focus on developing and strengthening relationships with fabricators, as well as engaging with designers, builders, and kitchen & bath retailers.

The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision. You will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth across all slab categories, including natural stone, quartz, and porcelain, by identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities while nurturing and expanding existing client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Leadership - Take full ownership of Ciot's wholesale slab business in the Ottawa region, ensuring comprehensive market coverage and strategic growth.
  • Fabricator Engagement - Serve as the primary point of contact for fabricators, fostering strong relationships and driving increased product adoption.
  • Business Development - Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across fabricators, designers, builders, and kitchen & bath retailers.
  • Sales Growth - Develop and execute strategies to increase market share and drive revenue growth across all slab product categories.
  • Relationship Management - Cultivate long-term partnerships with key industry stakeholders to expand Ciot's presence in the region.
  • Market Intelligence - Conduct ongoing research on market trends, competitive activities, and customer needs to uncover new sales opportunities.
  • Collaboration - Work closely with internal teams, leveraging existing relationships and identifying areas to enhance client engagement.
  • Strategic Planning - Prepare and present tailored business proposals, highlighting the unique value of Ciot's slab offerings.
  • Reporting - Provide regular updates on sales performance, revenue forecasts, and industry insights to senior management.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • College diploma or university degree in business or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the construction, building materials, or design industries.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing fabricator relationships and driving slab sales in a wholesale distribution environment.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport across diverse industry segments.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to identify market opportunities and execute growth initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently while staying aligned with company goals and reporting structures.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Ottawa region to meet clients.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) an asset
