The Role

As a Benefits and Onboarding Specialist, you'll play a key role in ensuring new hires feel welcomed, supported, and set up for success. You will also be a trusted resource for all things benefits, providing support and guidance to employees throughout their journey with Tundra. Benefits Administration & HR Support

  • Assist employees in understanding and enrolling in health, dental, vision, and other benefit programs.
  • Serve as the go-to contact for benefit-related inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Communicate updates and changes to benefits policies and ensure employees understand their options.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant employment and benefit regulations.
  • Manage the relationship with the brokers and attend monthly or quarterly check-ins.
  • Assist with payroll inputs for benefits and respond to employee questions.
  • Support day-to-day HR processes including data entry, record keeping, and document management.
  • Maintain and audit employee records related to onboarding and benefits in the benefit portal.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve onboarding and benefits-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work closely with the broader People & Culture team, Associate Experience, IT, and department leads to ensure seamless new hire experiences.
  • Identify gaps or inefficiencies in onboarding and benefits processes and recommend solutions.
  • Prepare and share regular updates and metrics on onboarding progress and benefits utilization.

Onboarding

  • Draft, prepare, and send employment contracts using our onboarding platform Able, ensuring timely delivery to candidates.
  • Send all required onboarding documents and track their completion for a smooth onboarding process.
  • Initiate and confirm background and criminal reference checks for all associates.
  • Complete I-9 verifications and documentation for U.S. associates within 3 days of their start date.
  • Set up new hires in necessary systems, including Organimi, ADP, Concur, and Dynamics.
  • Maintain accurate and complete employee files to meet company compliance standards.
  • Notify relevant departments (IT, Payroll, etc.) of new hires and provide updates once employee files are ready for action.
  • Collect and analyze Candidate Experience Survey feedback to continually enhance the onboarding process.

Who You Are

  • You have 2-4 years of experience in HR, onboarding, or benefits administration, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
  • You're familiar with Canadian employment laws and benefit practices and know how to apply them.
  • You're a clear communicator with strong people skills and a team-first mindset.
  • You're tech-savvy and comfortable navigating HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
  • You stay organized, detail-focused, and can juggle multiple tasks without dropping the ball.
  • You're passionate about creating a smooth, engaging employee experience from day one.

The salary range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $45,000 - $55,000.

Our benefits offering includes medical, dental, vision, and retirement benefits.
