Position Title: OMS Product Manager

Line of Business: T & O

Duration: 17 Months (Possible extension and conversion)

Working Location: Toronto Hybrid; candidate will need to meet regularly with the traders in Toronto

Role Mandate: Drive initiatives aimed at optimizing clients order & trade management workflows, reducing dependencies on vendor solutions and also enriching the OMS technology capabilities that can be extended to clients.

Role Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

Product Management

• Lead product ideation, provide expertise to best tailor solutions to meet business objectives and develop business cases. In doing so, establish key priorities to support & sustain the strategic direction.

• Break down strategic problems, analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.

• Lead discussions on technology integration and provide advice and implementation guidance to stakeholders.

• Spearhead the definition of specifications in all forms - tickets, diagrams, wireframes, use cases, etc.

• Maintain the product roadmap.

• Own the backlog and structure books of work for the development staff.

• Maintain product-specific project plans and work with the management team to mesh them with other strategic initiatives.

• Track internal & external client requests and provide transparency at different levels of detail, as warranted.

• Review, test and direct the testing process of deliverables for the satisfaction of business requirements.

• Concentrate on UX and approach design decisions by prioritizing ease of use and stickiness.

• Understand and monitor the competitive landscape to build for edge.

Sales Engineering

• Design solutions such that the technology can extend and be complimentary to the firm's other product offerings.

• Compliment the sales team by standing ready to jump into any stage of the conversation as the OMS product expert.

• Align product vision with firm's principals and long term objectives. Clearly translate this linkage to the sales team and externally as appropriate.

• Manage and drive platform adoption; deliver demos and training sessions.

• Lead the direct communications to internal and clients on new release items

• Draft reference materials and work with Marketing on branding and distribution

• Continuously train the internal teams on detailed functions, features and logic.

Must-Have Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Computer Science preferred, equivalent experience would be considered.

• 15+ years of financial industry experience and a track record of succeeding in any blend of the following disciplines: product management, project management, business analysis and/or business development.

• Fluent in the Canadian equity market microstructure and its sell-side regulatory requirements. Strong background with the regulatory and market microstructure in other regions and asset classes will be highly valued, particularly in equity options, futures and future options in US, Europe, Asia and other regions.

• Structured approach to problem solving

• Strong familiarity with a broad range of sell-side OMS and EMS platforms, and the intricacies associated with technology integrations.

• Capable of continually zooming out to contribute strategically and zooming in to focus down to an extreme level of detail.

• Experience at a sell-side broker-dealer firm, with specific domain expertise as a big plus.

• Familiarity with the FIX protocol.

• Preference for operating in a highly collaborative and agile environment. "Capital A" Agile experience is a plus.

• Personable, confident, articulate and passionate about the role and the industry in general.
