In-House Legal Counsel (Full Time) - Toronto, ON

Evanov Communications is seeking a talented and motivated lawyer to join our legal department. This role reports directly to the Vice President & General Counsel, and will also work with other members of the Leadership Committee and internal business units, including Human Resources, Sales, Promotions, Programming and Finance.
The successful applicant will be a business-savvy, solution-oriented legal professional who can navigate a wide range of legal matters, from employment to regulatory compliance to commercial contracts and more. This role requires a well-rounded lawyer who is dynamic, pragmatic and quick-thinking, and who has a keen eye for finding creative solutions to challenges.

THE CREATION - What you'll do (includes but not limited to)
You will be working and advising on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters, such as:
- advertising, including in tightly-regulated sectors such as alcohol, cannabis, iGaming and health products
- contest regulations, prizing, and other promotional activities
- commercial contracts, leases and licensing agreements
- employment matters, at all stages of the employee lifecycle
- corporate governance
- copyright issues
- civil litigation and collections files
- privacy compliance, policies and practices
- proceedings and other regulatory matters before the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) and the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council (CBSC)

THE ENERGY - Bring your vibe
- 0 to 3 years of post-call experience in a law firm and/or in-house position (new calls will be considered)
- Successful completion of a Bachelor of Law (LL.B), Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent law degree, and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- Outstanding academic credentials
- Strong analytic, communication and organizational abilities
- Sound business judgment, with the flexibility and adaptability to manage multiple, wide-ranging matters, conflicting deadlines, and new areas of expertise as business needs change
- Demonstrated ability to identify, prioritize and resolve legal issues quickly and effectively, in a positive and practical manner
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to speak and write in French is an asset, but is not required
