Overview

The Legal Assistant is responsible for acting as first point of contact with clients and for assisting the lawyer(s) with all support work in an effective and timely matter. The Legal Assistant ensures the required documentation is accurate and completed, and provides other support as required.

Responsibilities

  • Act as primary contact for all incoming inquiries.
  • Onboard new clients.
  • Prepare client correspondence.
  • Manage client files ensuring all documentation is prepared, executed and filed.
  • Edit legal documents, letters and emails.
  • Follow all legal procedures when preparing documentation in the following areas: residential and commercial real estate.
  • Manage client billing.
  • Provide general administrative support.

Qualifications

  • Completion of legal assistant or paralegal program; understanding of legal procedures and terminology.
  • 3+ years' comparable experience preferred but not necessarily required.
  • Experience in the area of real estate.
  • Proficient computer skills, especially with MS 365.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Effective organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands and ability to meet deadlines.

We offer a competitive compensation package and a full employee benefits package. The hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours a day, 37.5 hours per week.
