Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee and drive the successful delivery of high-impact projects within our organization. Based at our Corporate Head Office, the Senior PM will lead cross-functional teams, manage complex timelines and budgets, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset, deep project leadership experience, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.

Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

  • Lead the development of project charters, business cases, and work breakdown structures (WBS).
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules, resource plans, milestones, and dependencies.
  • Ensure alignment of project goals with strategic business objectives and stakeholder expectations.

Scope & Change Management

  • Define and manage project scope, ensuring clear understanding across stakeholders.
  • Implement and oversee change management processes, ensuring all scope changes are analyzed for impact on schedule, cost, and quality.

Budget & Financial Oversight

  • Prepare project budgets and forecasts; track actual spends against projections.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and maintain tight budgetary control.
  • Report on financial performance to leadership and finance teams.

Risk, Issue & Quality Management

  • Identify project risks and implement risk response strategies.
  • Log and track issues through to resolution, escalating as needed.
  • Conduct regular quality assurance reviews to ensure deliverables meet defined standards and client requirements.

Stakeholder Communication & Reporting

  • Act as the liaison between project teams, senior leadership, and external partners.
  • Prepare executive-level dashboards, progress updates, and board reports.
  • Facilitate steering committee meetings and ensure action items are tracked and followed up.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead cross-functional teams of business analysts, developers, QA testers, and subject matter experts.
  • Resolve team conflicts, ensure proper task delegation, and foster a culture of accountability and collaboration.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members and junior PMs.

Vendor & Contract Management

  • Manage vendor selection, contracts, deliverables, and performance.
  • Monitor vendor compliance with SLAs, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate procurement needs and liaise with legal and finance on contract administration.

Compliance & Regulatory Alignment

  • Ensure project activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., PIPEDA, PHIPA, AODA, and other industry-specific regulations).
  • Liaise with internal compliance officers and legal teams as needed to assess risk and ensure documentation integrity.

Post-Project Evaluation

  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and retrospectives to assess project outcomes vs. objectives.
  • Capture and disseminate lessons learned to improve future project delivery.
  • Ensure smooth handoff to operational teams or client stakeholders for ongoing support and sustainment.

PMO & Strategic Contribution

  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of PMO tools, templates, and standards.
  • Align project delivery methods with organizational maturity (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches).
  • Support enterprise portfolio management efforts by providing input on project prioritization and capacity planning.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive project management experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or MBA considered a strong asset.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is required.
  • Agile/Scrum certification (CSM, PMI-ACP) is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, enterprise-wide projects
  • Expert knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, Asana).
  • Strong budget management and financial forecasting experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Familiarity with AODA compliance, Ontario employment standards, and data privacy regulations is preferred.
