Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Inside Sales Engineer to join our dynamic lighting solutions team. As an Inside Sales Engineer for Lighting, you will work closely with customers, sales teams, and engineering professionals to provide expert advice on lighting products, applications, and solutions. Your role will involve managing customer inquiries, providing detailed product specifications, and generating accurate quotations. You will be the technical liaison between the customer and the company, ensuring high-quality service and successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Consultation & Support: Respond to technical customer inquiries, understand their controls and lighting needs, solving non-functioning and warranty issues.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain an in-depth knowledge of our lighting product portfolio, including fixtures, controls, sensors, etc.
  • Collaboration with Sales Teams: Work closely with the outside sales team to ensure seamless communication and support on key projects and accounts.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance on product selection, lighting design, and system integration to customers and sales teams. Verify technical drawings to confirm the order can be processed as sent.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Making sure all lighting reports are up to date for potential use during lighting specifications.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. (or equivalent work experience)

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in inside sales, technical sales, or a similar engineering-focused role, preferably within the lighting industry.
  • Proven experience with lighting design software or tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, AGI32, DIALux) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of lighting systems, energy efficiency, and regulatory standards (e.g., DLC, Title 24, LM-79, LM-80 or any other reports related to our industry).

Skills:

  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to explain complex product specifications in a clear, customer-friendly manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple customer inquiries and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, design, and sales teams.
