Webuild has won a new contract to deliver the Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations section of the Ontario Line and we are currently seeking a Health & Safety Administrator
This position is a full-time 100% onsite position at our downtown office.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Health and Safety Administrator will support the effective implementation of the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management system across all phases of the project. This role involves maintaining accurate safety documentation, assisting with incident reporting and investigations, organizing safety training records, and ensuring compliance with local, provincial, and federal safety regulations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in fostering a safety-first culture on site and within all project teams.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update HSE records, including safety training logs, incident reports, inspection records, and safety data sheets (SDS).
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of safety documentation, reports, and communications.
- Coordinate and schedule safety meetings, toolbox talks, training sessions, and safety audits.
- Collect and compile HSE statistics for regular reporting to senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Support incident investigations by gathering data, completing documentation, and assisting in root cause analysis.
- Track and follow up on corrective and preventative actions arising from safety audits and incidents.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety signage on site.
- Ensure the accessibility and currency of safety information for all project personnel.
- Act as a liaison between field staff and the HSE department, helping to relay concerns or observations to leadership.
- Support the onboarding process by ensuring new workers receive proper safety orientation.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant standards such as OSHA, OHSA, CSA, and applicable municipal transit safety codes.
Education and Qualifications:
- Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or related field (required).
- CRSP, CHSC, or equivalent certification (considered an asset).
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a safety administrative or HSE support role, preferably within construction or transit infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with subway or heavy civil construction environments is highly desirable.
