Human Resources Business Partner - Employee Relations
Location: Saint John, NB
Our client is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner with a strong focus on employee relations. In this role, you'll be the go-to expert for staff and managers, supporting fair, consistent, and compliant workplace practices. From resolving conflicts to shaping policy and driving employee engagement, you'll play a key role in building a positive and productive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employee Relations: Manage conflict resolution, performance concerns, grievances, and disciplinary actions. Support managers and staff with guidance and solutions.
- Policy Development: Create and maintain HR policies aligned with legal standards and organizational goals. Ensure clear communication and consistent application.
- Advisory Support: Act as a trusted resource for employee relations matters, offering expert advice to leaders and staff.
- Training & Coaching: Deliver training on employee relations, conflict management, and leadership. Provide coaching to help teams thrive.
- Investigations: Conduct fair and confidential investigations into workplace concerns and recommend actions based on findings.
- Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations. Recommend updates as laws and best practices evolve.
- Mediation: Facilitate discussions to resolve workplace disputes and promote open, respectful communication.
- Data & Insights: Track and analyze employee relations trends. Present findings and recommendations to leadership.
- Engagement: Support strategies that improve employee engagement, morale, and workplace culture.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with HR and other departments on cross-functional initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of HR experience, with a focus on employee relations
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of labor laws and employee relations best practices
- Skilled in conflict resolution, investigations, and policy development
- Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office
- HR certifications (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) are an asset
- High integrity, discretion, and ability to manage multiple priorities
