Job Title: Senior Oracle Database Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced Oracle Database Manager with 10+ years of experience to lead and manage our enterprise database environments. This individual will be responsible for the strategic planning, design, implementation, and operational management of Oracle database systems across business-critical applications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, technical depth, and a proactive approach to ensuring high availability, performance, and security of our database systems.

Work Location: Toronto - Hybrid

Salary Range: CAD 127,000 - 135,000 yearly

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the architecture, administration, and optimization of enterprise Oracle database platforms (including Oracle 11g, 12c, 19c).

Define and enforce best practices for high availability, disaster recovery, data retention, and compliance.

Manage and mentor a team of Oracle DBAs and collaborate with cross-functional IT and business teams.

Drive automation initiatives for database deployment, backup/recovery, patching, and monitoring.

Oversee performance tuning, SQL optimization, and capacity planning.

Ensure 24/7 availability of mission-critical databases through proactive monitoring and incident management.

Manage Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and GoldenGate environments.

Develop and maintain operational documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge base articles.

Evaluate and recommend new tools, upgrades, and database technologies aligned with business goals.

Ensure compliance with security standards (e.g., encryption, auditing, user access policies).

Report regularly to leadership on KPIs, system health, risks, and project progress.
