Job Summary

As an Instrumentation Field Representative, you will work from our Head Office in Brockville, Ontario, located on the banks of the St. Lawrence River. Your role will be specific to our Instrumentation portfolio. Your focus will be to provide technical support to customers and our internal teams in the form of product suggestions, troubleshooting, and coaching via email, phone, and in-person meetings. Repair, installation, and maintenance of customer instruments both in-house and on-site is a significant aspect of the job. Frequent travel to customer and supplier locations is expected. Customer service and product-specific training are provided.

Daily functions will include but are not limited to:

  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional technical support to our valued customers via email, phone and in-person visits, helping them resolve challenges and answer inquiries related to our Instrumentation product lines. This will include quoting and after-service follow-up.
  • Service, repair, calibration, and installation of Analytical Instrumentation: This will be a combination of in-house and on-site service.
  • Supplier Collaboration: Communicate with our suppliers as well as the resources they offer to help guide your conversations with customers.
  • Internal Support: Collaborate closely with our quotes, sales, and marketing teams to ensure they have the technical insights and support they need to serve and educate our customers effectively.
  • Participate in tradeshows and customer visits as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/Master's/Ph.D.in Science, preferably in the discipline of Chemistry
  • Hands-on chromatography experience in GC and/or HPLC is essential
  • Superior troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve problems with creative solutions
  • Basic electronic and pneumatic skills are assets
  • Hands-on experience with instrumentation, maintenance or servicing
  • Personal computing skills, including a working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook,
  • Knowledge of MS Dos, Ethernet, RS 232 communication protocols and chromatography data systems
  • Laboratory sample preparation experience and knowledge of life sciences technologies are assets
  • The ability and willingness to travel frequently
