PURPOSE

The Specialist, Dealer Sales Training plays a key role in enhancing the performance and effectiveness of Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canadas dealer network through strategic training initiatives. This position is responsible for working with the Senior Leadership Team to develop an annual dealer training plan based on both dealer needs and OEM strategic objectives, issuing RFPs for external training vendors, and overseeing the successful execution and deployment of training programs across the network. Additionally, the role includes managing the functionality, optimization and dealer adoption of MiDelivery (a digital vehicle sales delivery process and checklist) and MiShowroom (a digital vehicle showroom), ensuring these tools effectively support sales process excellence. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of project management, stakeholder engagement, and analytical skills to support the growth and performance of the sales network.

This position reports to the Director, Sales Planning and Distribution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Training Needs Assessment & Planning

  • Collaborate with internal departments (Sales, Marketing, Aftersales, Field Operations) and dealer stakeholders to assess current and emerging training needs
  • Support the Senior Leadership Team in developing and maintaining a comprehensive annual dealer sales training plan aligned with OEM objectives and dealer performance metrics
  • Monitor Industry trends and best practices to inform training strategy and content

RFP and Vendor Management

  • Prepare and issue Requests for Proposals for training vendors and instructional design partners
  • Evaluate vendor proposals based on content quality, delivery capabilities, cost, and alignment with training goals
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure deliverables meet contractual and quality standards.

Program Development and Deployment

  • Coordinate the development, customization, and rollout of training programs (e.g. in person, virtual, e-learning)
  • Oversee timelines, logistics, and communications related to training delivery
  • Support Field Teams in training adoption and follow-up activities to reinforce learning outcomes.

Online Academy Oversight

  • Coordinate the structure, content updates, and user experience of Go Far Academy.
  • Ensure that all training materials are current, accurate, and aligned with objectives.
  • Track user engagement and work with third party vendor to identify opportunities for platform enhancements and content improvement.

Certification and Recognition Program Coordination

  • Coordinate the design and implementation, and administration of training certification and recognition programs for various dealer roles.
  • Track certification progress and compliance across the dealer network
  • Communicate certification and recognition requirements, deadlines, and outcomes to internal stakeholders.

Tool Management: MiDelivery & MiShowroom

  • Oversee the day-to-day functionality and continuous improvement of MiDelivery and MiShowroom tools
  • Work with internal teams and external vendors to ensure the tools meet organizational and dealer needs.
  • Monitor dealer adoption and usage metrics, troubleshoot issues, and drive enhancements based on use feedback.
  • Support training and communication initiatives to ensure effective dealer onboarding and sustained usage of both platforms.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Track training completion rates, participant feedback, and performance impact.
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to internal stakeholders on training and tool effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement based on feedback and performance data.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years of experience in training coordination, project management, or dealer network support, ideally within the automotive industry
  • Experience managing vendors and overseeing RFP processes
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems; familiarity with e-learning tools is an asset
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
  • Moderate verbal/written communications/presentation skills.
  • Basic to advanced computer skills including Excel and Word.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
