Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and reliable IT Support Specialist to join our Client's healthcare IT team. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of hands-on IT support experience, particularly in fast-paced environments, with a focus on core technologies such as Microsoft Office 365, Azure Active Directory, and SharePoint. The role involves providing technical support for clinical and administrative staff, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring compliance with healthcare IT standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-level support for all hardware, software, and network-related issues within the clinic.
  • Maintain and support desktops, laptops, printers, phones, fax machines, and medical equipment connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to email, internet access, application performance, and system errors.
  • Manage user accounts, including creation, password resets, and access rights in Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, and SharePoint.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain VoIP phone systems.
  • Monitor network performance and escalate issues as needed.
  • Conduct basic network troubleshooting (switches, routers, firewalls, IP configurations, Wi-Fi setup).
  • Ensure clinic devices are patched and running on supported OS and security configurations.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes from an IT perspective.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory and support lifecycle management.
  • Support the migration and digitization of paper records when required.
  • Ensure adherence to PHIPA and organizational IT security policies.
  • Coordinate with the central IT team for escalations and project implementations.
  • Provide flexible support beyond regular office hours or on weekends during critical situations.
  • Travel between clinic locations as required.

Required Skills, Experience & Credentials:

  • Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of IT support experience, preferably in a healthcare or clinic environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Office 365, Azure Active Directory, and SharePoint.
  • Good understanding of basic networking concepts and components (switches, routers, firewalls, IP configurations, Wi-Fi setup).
  • Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting (desktops, laptops, printers, VoIP phone systems).
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and healthcare compliance (PHIPA/HIPAA) is an asset.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Willingness to work beyond regular office hours or on weekends during emergencies.
  • Flexible and committed, with a proactive attitude toward continuous learning and upgrading technical skills.
  • Willingness to travel between clinic locations as needed.

Interview Focus:

  • Practical knowledge and problem-solving abilities related to Office 365, Azure, SharePoint, hardware support (PCs, printers, VoIP), and general troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic network troubleshooting skills and understanding of network components.
