TITLE: PLANNING SUPERVISOR

REPORTING TO: ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF STRATEGY/OR GROUP DIRECTOR OF STRATEGY

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Planning Supervisor is responsible for monitoring their group on a day-to-day basis. They are involved in developing creative insight into the overall strategic planning and analysis of a fully integrated plans (traditional, digital, social, etc.).

They are the primary contact for the client and agency account and planning teams.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Understand marketplace dynamics/conditions and gain deeper understanding of client's business (sales, competitors, targets)

Actively participate in delivering strategic insight into 360 plan development and manage (plan) process and present plans to client

Utilize OMD Design in plan development

Preparation and presentation of reports/analyses to clients

Key contact on client business with buyers/agencies, account group

Co-ordination of planning guides

Oversee daily systems and procedures

Oversee training/mentoring of strategist level down

Ensure effective communication with buyers and account group

Group liaison with Manager/Group Director of Strategy

Participate in junior talent selection for group

Completion/management of performance evaluations for immediate group (Assistants, Planners and Senior Planners)

Participation in client, vendor and corporate education seminars

DEVELOPMENTAL TRAINING

Accountability for media plan product

Further develop insight into client's business

Expand knowledge of agency disciplines

Gain insight into client marketplace dynamics (economical, competitive, etc)

Broaden understanding of Checkmate process

Develop management skills (demonstrate leaderships abilities, problem solving, performance management of team)

(Constantly) remain current with emerging media

Cultivation of media reputation and agency profile
