Role Description
We are looking for experienced Production Supervisor (Commercial or Residential Construction) to join the leadership on our Friday to Sunday team. This role reports directly to the Production Manager and plays a critical part in leading a Modular Construction projects within out indoor facility. As a Production Supervisor you are responsible for overseeing the teams engaged in construction activities; and planning, coordinating, assisting in cost control, and ensuring a safe work environment. The Production Supervisor will be able to engage and empower the build teams to achieve the desired production schedule in an efficient manner.

Building Better. MODUS Structures Inc. is an experienced prefabricated building design and construction company, based in Crossfield, Alberta. Established in 2004, MODUS has successfully provided innovative and cost-effective building solutions to the educational, commercial, residential, industrial, and institutional sectors. Operating in two manufacturing facilities totaling 200,000 sq. ft. of insulated and heated workspace, the MODUS team works to design, construct and deliver building projects faster and more cost-effective than traditional site-build methods.
Schedule:
Friday to Sunday - Weekend Shift; 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Potential for overtime.
Location:
This role is office & plant based at our 135,000 square feet manufacturing facility 20 minutes North of Calgary in Crossfield, Alberta, strategically located near a High Load Corridor which allows us to transport loads up to 9 meters high to many parts of Alberta, Saskatchewan, BC, and the United States. Our employees live in Calgary, Airdrie and surrounding communities.
Responsibilities
Strategic:
- Provide supervision and planning in the successful completion of projects. Oversee the method of construction, manpower, equipment, and material needed to achieve quality and delivery objectives
- Perform audits of construction operations to ensure work is being completed in compliance with project specifications and monitor safe work practices
- Hold production teams accountable for adherence to production schedules for specific projects
- Plan, direct and participate, when applicable, in day-to-day work activities to ensure that established goals and objectives are met
- Report on problems and the solutions to the Production Manager & VP Operations
- Enforce and ensure compliance to Health & Safety and Work practices
- Ensure builds are built to plans
- Enforce equipment maintenance schedule and advise when repairs are required
- Ability to report on the efficiency and utilization metrics in the business
Reporting:
- Daily weekly and monthly schedule updates and maintenance
- Manpower issues and requirements
- Daily End of Shift Reports
Quality Control:
- Maintain all quality documents required per job or client
- Visual checks of workmanship to ensure they are satisfactory to quality specs
Qualifications:
- Red Seal Journeyman certification in carpentry or relevant trade
- 10+ years trade and supervision experience
- Microsoft Office capable
- Strong leadership, effective communication skills, conflict resolution and the ability to have critical conversations
- Ability to read blueprints, and markup dimension PDF construction drawings
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization with high levels of integrity, tact and maturity
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects/activities in a dynamic fast-paced environment
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills, attention to detail, with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Highly effective at building and managing client/vendors relationships
