WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT WHEN JOINING THE TEAM

The OHS Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring OHS programs. You will be a presence for employees and collaborate closely with various departments and management on all matters related to health and safety. As a prevention leader, you will actively contribute to protecting the health and well-being of our employees while supporting the company's operations.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote an OHS culture focused on accountability and prevention in accordance with the organization's values.
  • Develop, implement and maintain OHS policies and procedures in accordance with local regulations and industry standards.
  • Complete audits required by the head office and any preventive actions requested as part of the deployment of the health and safety prevention culture.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date files on incidents, inspections, trainings and corrective actions.
  • Ensure the updating and management of various performance indicators and OHS files (reports, records, statistics, etc.).
  • Participate in the development of safe work instructions and procedures.
  • Carry-out regular on-site inspections to identify hazards, dangerous areas and non-compliant practices.
  • Initiate and collaborate with the production supervisory team during accident investigations and analyses, when necessary, and identify corrective actions required to eliminate risks at the source.
  • Participate in the onboarding and integration of new employees (OHS awareness, training, plant tours, PPE).
  • Organize and conduct workplace safety trainings for personnel

YOUR PROFILE

  • Diploma in occupational health and safety, Certificate in industrial management or relevant combination of studies/experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • French and English 5/5. Knowledge of English is required as the individual will be drafting documents and communications with the head office in the United States.
  • Proficiency in the Office suite
  • Good knowledge of organizational health and safety laws and regulation.
  • Organization / planning skills

  • Analytical mind and good judgment
  • Proactive and autonomous
