Our client, a leading law firm, seeks to add an Insurance Litigation Associate 3+ Call to their team to their growing and thriving team. The role focuses on claims and coverage insurance matters, and the successful candidate will have gained this experienced at a recognized law firm in Ontario.
The role
This role will focus on insurance-related litigation, with an emphasis on professional liability, D&O (Directors and Officers) and E&O (Errors and Omissions) matters, as well as class actions. The successful candidate will handle a wide range of complex litigation matters and will play a key role in providing strategic advice and advocacy to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as counsel in professional liability, insurance, and class action litigation matters
Manage files involving D&O and E&O liability, securities litigation, shareholder disputes, and oppression claims
Represent clients in commercial and civil litigation, including contractual disputes and claims involving negligence or misrepresentation
Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and memoranda
Participate in examinations for discovery, mediations, and court appearances
Provide practical, strategic legal advice with a client-focused approach
Qualifications:
Licensed to practice law in Ontario with a minimum of 3 years of litigation experience
Strong background in insurance litigation and professional liability preferred
Excellent advocacy, legal research, and drafting skills
Ability to manage complex files independently and collaboratively
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Commitment to delivering outstanding client service
