As our business grows, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Automotive Technician to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing the following duties:
Diagnose mechanical and basic electrical issues in vehicles using diagnostic tools and procedures.
Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and brake servicing.
Repair or replace mechanical components such as engines, transmissions, suspensions, cooling systems, and fuel systems.
Support minor electrical repairs (e.g. starter motors, alternators, sensors, and lighting systems).
Read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical bulletins.
Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and customer documentation.
Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
Maintain tools, diagnostic equipment, and work areas in clean, functional condition.
Job Requirements:
Completion of a post-secondary vocational program in automotive technology or a formal apprenticeship program.
At least 2 years of recent, relevant experience in automotive repair (including commercial vehicles is an asset).
Experience with computerized diagnostic tools and modern automotive repair techniques.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication skills and ability to explain technical issues to non-technical clients.
Must be physically capable of handling heavy parts and working in tight spaces.
Red Seal certification or eligibility to challenge the Red Seal exam is considered an asset.
Experience with hybrid or EV electrical systems is not required but considered an advantage.
