This position is responsible for supporting the execution of Farm Boy's Community Engagement Strategy including: executing a variety of community engagement events, marketing project and programs. Working closely with the Manager - Community Engagement, this position will help ensure that all requirements are delivered in a timely manner while adhering to established brand guidelines. The performance of the duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers, and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.
Major Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all activities for various community engagement, in-store or sponsorship events, including: mascot appearances, on-site activations, and sampling programs.
- Act as the on-site lead at various community and in-store events.
- Assist in tracking, monitoring, and evaluating the progress of community engagement projects against strategy and workback schedules; communicating updates and summary reports to the Manager - Community Engagement.
- Support the fulfillment process of deliverables for all Farm Boy events such as: samples, giveaways, merchandise, etc.
- Oversee the coordination of the Farm Boy vehicle, ensuring it's being serviced and available for events.
- Maintain inventory for event execution such as: mascot costumes, event kit materials, signage, merchandise, etc.
- Plan and executes in-store holiday programming, to engage customers and enhance the in-store experience.
- Support current marketing initiatives with the planning, executing, and tracking of programs, such as: seasonal campaigns, events, or content marketing.
- Ensure timely execution of department administration, including budgeting tracking and reporting.
- Support the execution of Nutrition and Dietician Programs at all Farm Boy locations.
- May be requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.
Qualifications
- Typically requires completion of a post-secondary program with an emphasis in Marketing, Event Planning, or a related discipline, plus 1-2 years of experience (preferably with a focus on retail grocery), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of marketing, event and project management fundamentals.
- Superior computer skills, specifically in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Knowledge of Asana considered an asset.
- Proven ability to set priorities, multitask and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Keen eye for detail with proven follow-up practices.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and decisive with a hands-on approach.
- Strong customer skills including diplomacy, discretion and relationship building.
- A passion for great tasting food and a desire to create the best customer shopping experience.
- Flexible schedule, including availability during evenings, weekends and holidays on occasion.
- Fluency in French shall be considered an asset.
- G Class driver's license and access to a vehicle is required
Work & Sensory Environment:
- Sitting for long periods of time at workstations (e.g. while keyboarding).
- Ability to travel between retail locations and community events with reliable transportation.
- Lack of control over pace due to multiple and/or tight deadlines beyond one's control.
- Exposure to eye strain from computer terminals.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
