About the Company
Our client is seeking a Contract Specialist to join their in-house team based in Ontario. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the review, drafting, negotiation, and management of commercial contracts across a variety of business units. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of Canadian contract law and a proven ability to manage contractual risk while enabling business goals.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts including service agreements, NDAs, licensing agreements, supplier/vendor contracts, consulting agreements, and other commercial documents.
- Assist with the development and implementation of contract templates, playbooks, and policies to support efficient contract management.
- Analyze contract terms to ensure compliance with corporate policies, applicable laws, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with legal counsel and internal stakeholders to resolve contract issues and negotiate favourable terms.
- Support operational teams in understanding and interpreting contract terms and obligations.
- Contribute to process improvements and support training initiatives for internal stakeholders related to contracts.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Law, Paralegal Studies, Business, or a related field.
- Law Clerk or Paralegal designation from an accredited Ontario institution is an asset.
- 5+ years of experience drafting and managing contracts, preferably in an in-house, corporate, or procurement environment.
- Strong understanding of Canadian contract law and contract negotiation principles.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Compensation
This role offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, and comprehensive benefits package. This role is working 3 days in office, and 2 days remote in the west end of Toronto.
