Nonna Lia is a fast-growing Italian eating establishment catered to savvy customers with a premium taste. Over the past 4 years, our team has expanded to 30 people, with products sold in 10 locations across the GTA. Today, more than 10,000lb of desserts are made and sold in our kitchen every single month.

Summary

We are seeking an Assistant General Manager to join our team. In this role, you will report directly to Nonna Lia's founder to grow sales, improve profitability, and ensure high satisfaction among our customers.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will work with a team of 30+ people to personally lead or assist the General Manager with a wide range of activities. These include, among others:

Operations and Infrastructure

  • Overseeing daily operations, staff management and training
  • Developing or implementing strategies to improve quality control, productivity, performance, and overall customer satisfaction
  • Monitoring store and kitchen cleanliness, presentation, and overall upkeep - addressing gaps as required
  • Implementing inventory management processes, monitoring supplies, and assisting with orders and supplier negotiations as needed
  • Supporting financial processes as needed, such as bookkeeping, payable, receivables, and 3rd party refunds
  • Managing customer service processes, such as managing orders, answering phone calls, providing customer service, troubleshooting issues as they arise, etc.
  • Monitoring and improving operational performance of our store network and sales channels (e.g. website, 3rd party apps, etc.)
  • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations

Sales and Growth

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement our marketing agenda, promote our products and brand, and grow sales
  • Monitor and manage our reputations across both physical and digital platforms
  • Pursue business development opportunities in both the B2C and B2B space
  • Assist in managing or expanding our stores and product line up
  • Implement our overall brand vision and guidelines
  • Contribute actively to the development of our overarching company strategy
  • As needed, overseeing the General Manager's inbox, schedule, and communications with external stakeholders

Requirements

  • 4+ years experience executing projects in fast pace environments
  • Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role with 2 to 10 direct reports
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding ability to problem solve without external support
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Suite
  • Knowledge of the food industry is an asset
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed
  • G-license holders preferred
