About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Franchisee and Store Training to lead our training initiatives and ensure consistent, high-quality employee development across our national franchises. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing training programs that enhance employee performance, maintain brand standards, and drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a passion for developing talent and fostering a culture of learning within the restaurant industry.

Key Responsibilities

Training Strategy & Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive training strategy for both new company stakeholders internally, and external store opening dates aligned with company goals.
  • Create learning programs for all levels, including new hires, managers, and leadership teams.
  • Establish and maintain brand-wide training standards to ensure consistency across locations.
  • Lead a team consisting of both corporate trainers and field trainers who are responsible for executing the training programs at our corporate training facility and on site at new store openings.

Scheduling & Planning:

  • Communicate and oversee onboarding programs for new franchise partners.
  • Scheduling franchisee 5-week training programs within our corporate stores with detailed plans for both FOH, BOH and Management.
  • Communicate and oversee corporate trainers while tracking the progress of franchisees performance
  • Scheduling field trainers for a 2-week training program for new store openings.
  • Communicate and oversee the field trainers while tracking the progress of new store openings

Employee Development & Performance:

  • Design career development pathways to promote internal growth and retention within the corporate training team.
  • Implement leadership training programs to build a strong management pipeline.

Operational & Culinary Training:

  • Develop standardized training materials for front-of-house, back-of-house, and management teams.
  • Ensure proper training on food preparation, menu execution, and safety protocols.
  • Work closely with culinary and operations teams to introduce new menu items and procedures.

Training Delivery & Evaluation:

  • Utilize a mix of in-person training, e-learning, and hands-on coaching.
  • Monitor training effectiveness through performance metrics and employee feedback.
  • Continuously improve training programs based on data, best practices, and industry trends.
  • Ensure all training aligns with health and safety regulations, labor laws, and brand policies.
  • Maintain a culture of customer service excellence through targeted training initiatives.
  • Develop and implement hospitality-focused training to enhance the guest experience and promote quality food.

What We're Looking For

5+ years of experience in training & development in the restaurant industry.

2 years of experience at the Director level.

Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills.

Experience designing and implementing training programs at a multi-unit level.

Knowledge of adult learning principles and training technologies.

Ability to travel across Canada to different locations.

  • Comprehensive understanding of Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook and the ability to learn project management software and training modules.
