Ginsler Wealth is an independent, boutique wealth management firm based in Toronto, serving high-net-worth individuals and families. We offer a comprehensive suite of services encompassing investment management, financial planning, and family office solutions. Our "Personal CFO" approach provides clients with a centralized, coordinated strategy for managing their financial lives, ensuring clarity, control, and peace of mind.

In addition to the key duties listed below, this individual will work extremely closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Portfolio Management team. The position will interest a candidate who is looking for a smaller team environment affording a dynamic opportunity to learn and execute the daily tasks required to holistically oversee and manage the wealth needs of ultra high net worth families.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Family Office Associate with a CPA and/or CFP designation to join our team. This role is pivotal in delivering our Personal CFO services, focusing on:

  • Maintaining comprehensive financial net worth statements for clients.
  • Developing and updating financial models and plans.
  • Identifying and assisting with tax planning opportunities.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting and financial planning, coupled with the ability to manage complex financial affairs for affluent families.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Net Worth Management: Compile and maintain detailed net worth statements, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.

Financial Modeling: Develop and refine financial models to project cash flows, retirement scenarios, and other long-term planning objectives.

Tax Planning Support: Collaborate with clients' tax advisors to identify opportunities for tax efficiency and implement recommended strategies.

Investment Oversight: Coordinate with external investment managers, reviewing performance and ensuring alignment with clients' goals.

Estate and Insurance Planning: Assist in reviewing estate plans and insurance policies, ensuring they meet clients' current and future needs.

Client Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports that consolidate clients' financial information, providing clear insights and actionable recommendations.

Advisor Coordination: Serve as a liaison between clients and their external advisors (legal, tax, insurance), ensuring cohesive strategy implementation.

Other Special Projects and Assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS

Designations: CPA and/or CFP required.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in accounting, financial planning, or family office services.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial modeling, tax planning, and investment analysis.

Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.

Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Client-Centric: Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality, personalized service to clients.

ATTRIBUTES WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • CPA, CA, CFP, or similar designation (REQUIRED), with an undergraduate degree in finance, economics, business, math, or a related field (MBA an asset)
  • Strong foundation in tax, estate, and financial planning, with knowledge of Canadian regulatory and account structures (e.g., IPPs, corporate and registered accounts)
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and comfort handling confidential information
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and dependable demeanour
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and aptitude with numbers and problem-solving
  • Ability to prioritize, adapt, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
