Job description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Computer Hardware Technician to join our team, specializing in computer and hardware assembly. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with assembling, installing, and testing computer systems and hardware components. This role also involves traveling to client sites to install and support proprietary hardware solutions, ensuring systems are set up and functioning to meet client specifications.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assemble desktop PCs, servers, and other computer hardware according to company specifications and quality standards.
- Install components such as CPUs, GPUs, RAM, storage devices, power supplies, cooling systems, and any auxiliary components or devices that may be required for the system's performance.
- Ability to effectively solder and perform electrical wire connections as required.
- Ability to effectively use hand and power tools such as power drills, saws files etc.
- Perform functional testing and quality checks on assembled systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues, both in-house and at client sites.
- Travel to customer locations for on-site installation, configuration, and testing of proprietary hardware systems.
- Provide technical support during on-site visits and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain inventory of hardware components and report stock levels.
- Follow electrostatic discharge (ESD) and safety protocols during all handling and assembly.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical support teams for system customization and issue resolution.
Some travel maybe required domestically and/or internationally
Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma or certification in Computer Hardware, IT, Electronics, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in computer hardware assembly and troubleshooting
- In-depth knowledge of computer components and system integration.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel for on-site installations as required.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel within North America (and potentially internationally).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client-facing interactions.
- Advanced knowledge of cameras, optical devices, and computer/motherboard assemblies and components is a plus.
