AXXELHR is a talent acquisition firm, and we are currently looking to fill a Sales Applications Engineer/Technologist position for an excellent company located in Pointe-Claire.

Position Summary

Perform engineering duties by estimating and designing HVAC equipment, specific to custom air handlers. This role encompasses the estimation and design of custom HVAC equipment, as well as the ability to properly manage projects from receipt of order to delivery of product.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering principles to perform a wide variety of tasks in the selling, quoting, engineering, and manufacturing processes.
  • Review customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Specify system components or select equipment to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Recommend design modifications to reduce cost or improve performance.
  • Create thorough Sales letter indicating what proposal includes and what has been excluded from the quote.
  • Create full engineering submittal packages for Air Handling Units projects.
  • Interact with outside sales reps, Regional Sales Managers, customers, vendors, subcontractors, and other TMI personnel.
  • Work simultaneously on many different projects and meet deadlines consistently with high quality output.
  • Process work utilizing sales strategy protocols and follow sales rules of engagement.
  • Follow departmental procedures as required.
  • Investigate equipment failures to diagnose faulty operation or design. Make recommendations to Service department to fix problems as well as update standards for future designs.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or College degree in Building Systems Engineering Technology

Experience: Two (2) plus years of experience in a similar position is preferred

Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with AutoCAD and/or solid modeling software is preferred.

  • Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information.

  • Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others verbally and in writing - English and French
