Dynamic firm with a diverse client portfolio specialized in Commercial Insurance, Niche and Speciality Lines. The immediate role is to support the President and Owner of the firm in managing Transportation Insurance both small-mid-sized accounts and larger clients. Full training and onboarding provided.

Position Overview:

Build and maintain trusting business relationships with commercial clients within the transportation industry, providing advice and tailored insurance solutions that safeguard their assets and operations while achieving sustained business growth for SLS Insurance Broker.

Qualifications:

  • In-office role, Monday - Friday. Waterloo location.
  • RIBO designation in good standing. Additional industry qualifications such as CAIB, CIP, CRM would be an asset.
  • Degree or Diploma in insurance is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of long-haul trucking and specialty products, such as Cyber, D&O, E&O, Bonding would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in using Mac computer's, Gmail
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word and Adobe
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Highly efficient and able to adapt to changing requirements.
  • Willing to learn new ways of working and has a growth mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of commercial insurance accounts to meet client needs and requirements, serving as the primary point of contact.
  • Policy changes, submitting renewals, processing endorsements, working with underwriters and customer service focusing on Transportation risks.
  • Analyze client risks and exposures, recommending appropriate insurance coverage and risk management strategies.
  • Handle client inquires, requests promptly and professionally, providing timely resolution and attentive customer service.
  • Coordinate the renewal process for client accounts, including gathering renewal information, preparing renewal presentations.
  • Collaborate with internal term members to ensure client needs are met seamlessly.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes affecting commercial insurance, and communicate relevant updates to clients and internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, documentation and reports using company systems and tools.

  • Average to advanced skills in operating MAC, Word, Excel, Adobe and Gmail.

  • Multi task and work well under pressure to meet timelines etc.
