BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE - NORTH AMERICA

Location: Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada

ABOUT THE ROLE

As our Business Development Executive for the North America region, you will play a key role in driving our business growth. Your responsibilities include both managing inbound leads and developing an effective outbound sales strategy, management of important accounts in the North American energy sector as well as growing those relations with additional Solargis' solutions. You will handle the entire sales process from start to finish, effectively engaging with potential and existing customers to comprehend their challenges and offer meaningful solutions. Your role will involve diligent account management and proactive customer engagement, requiring strong organizational skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and manage outbound sales strategy for English-speaking markets in North America - with a primary focus on the US.
  • Monitor market activity and provide concise, insightful updates to the Solargis Americas CEO on high-value prospects, trends, and opportunities.
  • F ulfill administrative obligations such as maintaining an updated CRM with ongoing business activities - leads, contacts, deals, events.
  • Learn the Solargis product portfolio quickly and confidently communicate its value to potential customers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key target companies.
  • Engage with customers to understand and effectively articulate their technical and business needs, and offer tailored, meaningful solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with the broader Solargis ecosystem: customer support, CTO, product team, marketing, finance, legal etc. to develop the right solution for the client.
  • Gather customer feedback and track competitor and market trends to support Solargis product development.
  • Contribute creative ideas to improve Solargis' services and internal processes that drive sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Represent Solargis at solar industry tradeshows, workshops, and conferences - primarily across the US and Canada.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree with notable academic results.
  • F luent in English with strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Between 1-4 years of work experience in business development, consultancy, or technical sales.
  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills in managing client relationships and project deliverables.
  • Thrive in networking environments, such as conferences and industry events, and be comfortable initiating conversations and identifying business opportunities.
  • Understanding of B2B sales strategies, ideally within technical or consultative sales environments.
  • Understanding and/or interest in solar energy, photovoltaic technology, electrical and electronic systems is a requirement.
  • E xisting connections or work experience at utilities, solar power plant development companies, or other energy industry stakeholders is a plus.
