Introduction

Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Facilities & Maintenance Technician to join their team at a GMP-compliant manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on role focused on executing preventative and corrective maintenance activities, troubleshooting complex equipment, and supporting contractor oversight to ensure all work aligns with quality and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical problem-solving skills, a keen eye for continuous improvement, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute preventative maintenance tasks and ensure equipment is properly released for production.
  • Respond to and resolve maintenance tickets promptly, troubleshooting issues and performing necessary repairs or component replacements.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of complex systems including hot cells, isolators, biological safety cabinets (BSCs), and other process and analytical equipment.
  • Support nonconformance investigations and implement Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs).
  • Provide after-hours (on-call) maintenance support as needed.
  • Initiate work permits, perform lockouts, and escort external contractors as required.
  • Manage spare parts inventory to ensure equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Prepare and submit executed work orders, protocols, and vendor service reports for review and approval in compliance with GMP documentation standards.
  • Adhere to and support the client's SOPs and documentation protocols to meet all regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate maintenance records and identify opportunities for performance and reliability improvements.
  • Lead or support change controls and drive improvements within the preventative maintenance program.
  • Recognize and mitigate safety hazards, follow appropriate safety measures, and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in required technical and safety training programs.

Requirements

  • College diploma or degree in a technical discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical) or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 2-5 years of relevant maintenance experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong prioritization, multitasking, and time management abilities.
  • Willingness to work rotating schedules, including weekends, holidays, and on-call.
  • Experience in facility or site start-up environments is a strong asset.
  • Flexible to accommodate fluctuating work hours as needed by operations.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience in writing technical reports and understanding system trends.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined or physically demanding spaces.
  • Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions (indoor/outdoor).
  • Willingness to be trained and certified as a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW), if applicable.
  • Other duties as required.
