A well-established and respected law firm located in downtown Toronto is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to join their team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and draft legal correspondence, court documents, pleadings, and briefs
- File documents electronically through Ontario's court filing systems
- Manage litigation calendars, including court deadlines, hearings, and trial dates
- Coordinate service and filing of legal documents
- Organize and maintain physical and electronic files
- Schedule examinations for discovery, mediations, and client meetings
- Communicate with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel in a professional manner
- Provide administrative support to Litigators
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant in Civil Litigation
- Diploma or certificate in legal administration or law clerk program
- Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and Ontario court systems
- Proficiency with legal document formatting and MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Experience using legal practice management software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with a high level of accuracy
- Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information
Compensation
This role offers a competitive salary up to $72,000, commensurate with experience, an RRSP matching program, excellent benefits, and a hybrid remote schedule.
