Building Better. MODUS Structures Inc. is an experienced prefabricated building design and construction company, based in Crossfield, Alberta. Established in 2004, MODUS has successfully provided innovative and cost-effective building solutions to the educational, commercial, residential, industrial, and institutional sectors. Operating in two manufacturing facilities totaling 200,000 sq. ft. of insulated and heated workspace, the MODUS team works to design, construct and deliver building projects faster and more cost-effective than traditional site-build methods.
Role Description
We are looking for experienced Construction Foremen or Production Team Leads (Carpenters) to join our team. These roles report directly to the Production Manager and play a critical part in leading a team on carpentry, finishing and/or framing scopes to support our modular construction projects within out indoor facility.
Schedule:
Friday to Sunday - Weekend Shift; 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Potential for overtime.
Location:
This role is office & plant based at our 135,000 square feet manufacturing facility 20 minutes North of Calgary in Crossfield, Alberta, strategically located near a High Load Corridor which allows us to transport loads up to 9 meters high to many parts of Alberta, Saskatchewan, BC, and the United States. Our employees live in Calgary, Airdrie and surrounding communities.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of other experienced carpenters and labourers to support production and quality of projects
- Scope of work can include: wood framing, steel stud framing, flooring, roofing, parapets, finishing carpentry, and cladding.
- Demonstrate safe, quality, and efficient work is being performed and participate in inspections when required
- Maintaining equipment and ensuring tools are returned to job box at the end of each shift
Qualifications:
- 5 years in a supervisory role
- Trade certification or 10+ years construction experience
- Proven excellence in the trade
- Microsoft office capable
- Strong leadership, effective communication skills, conflict resolution and the ability to have critical conversations
- Exhibits and promotes a sense of urgency and excellence toward all work activities
- Ability to move easily between multiple departments, completing quality and efficient work
