Job Overview:

As a Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement portfolio, coordinating cross-functional teams, and aligning strategies to ensure the efficient and effective purchasing of goods and services. You will oversee the procurement contracts, develop cost reduction strategies, and execute initiatives that align with company objectives. Your role is essential in maintaining supplier relationships and optimizing the purchasing process to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Portfolio Management: Oversee the procurement portfolio, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services that meet the company's operational needs.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with various departments (e.g., operations, finance, logistics, and legal) to align procurement efforts with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Contract Management: Manage procurement contracts, ensuring compliance, performance, and the best value for the organization. Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure advantageous agreements.
  • Cost Reduction Strategy Development: Develop and execute strategies to reduce procurement costs across your scope, while maintaining high quality and service standards. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, addressing any issues that arise to ensure a smooth and productive working relationship.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct regular market research to stay updated on industry trends, new products, and potential suppliers that can drive cost savings and innovation.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present regular procurement reports to management, highlighting key performance metrics, cost savings, and opportunities for process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage contracts effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute cost reduction strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze market trends and supplier performance.
  • Knowledge of procurement software and tools is a plus.
