Our client is a growing manufacturing company specializing in material handling equipment such as mini-cranes, compact bulldozers, elevators, and other lifting solutions designed for various industrial sectors. Our growing client is looking to strengthen its presence in the mining sector. The Business Development Rep will be responsible for increasing the company's sales in the mining sector by developing business relationships with customers, resellers, manufacturing agents, and various partners.
Territory: North and South America and Europe occasionally
Workplace: Home Office (occasional presence at head office)
Products/Services: Material handling equipment
Salary: Base $100,000-$125,000
Commissions/Bonus: $50,000 the first year (uncapped commissions)
Car allowance: Any expense related to business travel will be reimbursed.
Expense's reimbursement: All expenses reimbursed

Functions:
- Close sales and maintain business relationships.
- Achieve or exceed sales objectives set by management.
- Prospect, target, solicit, and schedule visits with potential new customers.
- Actively prospect for potential new partners to expand our global distribution network in the mining sector.
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with manufacturing agents, resellers, and partners in the mining sector.
- Promote and present material handling equipment to customers.
- Regularly travel around the world, depending on the regions targeted in the business strategy.
- Travel regularly to train the sales force of new partners and support the sales force in daily activities.
- Establish an information monitoring system to stay abreast of developments and trends in the mining industry.
- The position involves making calls, drafting emails, planning itineraries, writing quotes, preparing presentations, and all other related tasks
Requirements:
Development vs Maintenance: 90% vs 10%
Road vs Office: 30% vs 70% (home office)
Languages: Excellent written and spoken English, Spanish is an asset
Education: Engineering or other technical training
Training: Full training provided at head office
Overnight Travel: 30%-40% travel with overnight stays. (approximately 1 week per month)
Years of experience: Between 10 and 15 years of experience in international business development
Other requirements:
- Experience in material handling equipment sales is an asset
- Experience in the mining sector mandatory
- Valid passport, able to travel to the United States
- Autonomy and resourcefulness
- Good organizational skills
- Negotiation skills and active listening
Transferable contacts: Contacts within the material handling equipment industry internationally are a major asset.
In-depth knowledge of the mining sector
Transferable Knowledge: Experience and knowledge in setting up distributors are a major asset.
