Position Overview:

We are seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented Estimator & Sales Representative - Acoustics & Noise Control to join our in-office team in Cornwall, ON. This individual will play a key role in driving business development while preparing accurate and competitive bids.

This role combines estimating with client engagement and sales responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical or construction systems, excellent communication skills, and a proactive mindset for identifying and securing new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating & Sales:

  • Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for noise control solutions
  • Manage the full bidding process - from identifying opportunities and preparing proposals to submitting bids and tracking results
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and tender documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for sound attenuation solutions
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and suppliers to determine material costs, lead times, and scope of work
  • Prepare bid packages and RFQs for suppliers and subcontractors
  • Analyze and compare supplier quotes and propose value-engineering options when needed
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and client consultations when required
  • Follow up with clients after bid submissions to address questions, clarify scope, and build strong client relationships
  • Research and pursue new business opportunities through tender platforms, referrals, and direct outreach
  • Provide clients with technical knowledge and guidance on sound attenuation products such as silencers, enclosures, and acoustic panels
  • Maintain a pipeline of leads and project opportunities; track and report on bidding and sales activities
  • Maintain and update excel templates for bidding purposes
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, fabrication, and coordination teams to ensure accurate project handoff and alignment with client expectations
  • Represent NVC Olsonfab professionally in meetings, calls, and client site visits

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in estimating, technical sales, or related roles in construction, acoustics, or mechanical fields
  • Knowledge of sound attenuation/acoustic products or mechanical noise control is a strong asset
  • Strong understanding of tendering procedures, construction drawings, and technical specifications
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or estimating software is an asset
  • Self-driven with a professional and client-focused approach
