Position: Material Analyst.

We are currently seeking a Material Analyst to join our team. This is a facility-specific role focused on supporting logistics, purchasing, and material functions within the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage vendor relationships and logistics related to steel processing services (e.g., shot blasting, pickling & oiling, cut-to-length).
- Analyze steel demand using ERP tools based on customer product releases, and ensure timely purchase order processing and deliveries.
- Monitor and ensure accurate raw material consumption aligned with Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Identify demand fluctuations and communicate changes to stakeholders.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent shortages.
- Support internal logistics and material flow across the shop floor.
- Source, negotiate, and purchase materials and supplies; analyze quotes for compliance and performance.
- Lead cost savings initiatives by collaborating cross-functionally.
- Track supplier and product performance to ensure contractual compliance.
- Create and manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, and payment follow-ups.
- Maintain accurate supplier and product databases and support new product launches.
- Ensure accurate ERP data for purchasing (lead times, order quantities, safety stock, pricing, etc.).
- Participate in cycle counts and physical inventory, generate inventory reports for review.
- Coordinate EDI and PO communications with suppliers.
- Expedite missed deliveries and ensure timely resolutions.
- Provide back-up support to other Materials roles as needed.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, economics, or a related field-or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, materials planning, logistics, and supply chain, ideally in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.
- Specialized experience in fabrication, MRO consumables procurement, and logistics.
- Proven experience in high-volume negotiation and supplier management.
- Advanced skills in inventory control methodologies.
- Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong ERP/MRP system experience; CMS knowledge is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills.
