Product Manager Role:

The Product Manager is primarily responsible for driving marketing activities and results of assigned brands. The Product Manager develops and executes the marketing plan and specific projects. This position reports to the Director of Marketing, Surgical and focuses on medical devices, surgical equipment and supplies for eye care professionals and their patients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the Director of Marketing, Surgical to prepare and execute product marketing plans for the surgical product portfolio by driving insights from internal and external stakeholders to shape strategic priorities.
  • Create both annual and long-term brand strategies, manage the marketing budget to ensure efficient resource allocation, and monitor the implementation of marketing strategies, taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of product campaigns, including advertising and promotional materials for the sales force.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and managing interactions with relevant external agencies to ensure the successful execution of brand strategies.
  • Maintain an updated understanding of the ophthalmology market. Periodically attend medical conferences and accompany sales reps to meet customers in hospital ORs and clinics.
  • Communicate product promotions and marketing plans to the sales force to ensure alignment with Labtician's strategy. Regularly monitor sales performance and provide feedback and support for both current and new sales representatives.
  • Analyze and present product sales forecasts and metrics to review the product performance and deep dive analyses of launch plans and marketing initiatives. Foster strategic business partnerships with Sales, Medical, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, and Operations departments.
  • Work with the team to recommend inventory turnover and product availability by developing demand forecasts.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5-7 years of Product Marketing in medical devices, pharmaceuticals or life sciences.
  • University Degree preferably in business management or science.
  • Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills to advocate for ideas, marketing plans, solutions, or initiatives with sales, leaders and global customers. Able to look at the big picture and formulate strategic solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Problem Solving- identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully. Gleans insights and solutions from data and trends.
  • Judgment- willing to make decisions; exhibits sound and accurate judgment; supports and explains reasoning for decisions.
  • Motivation- demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles. Strong interpersonal skills are needed to advocate and move projects through cross-functional teams.
  • Planning/Organizing- ability to multi-task, schedule, lead meetings and prioritize. Plans work activities to meet deadlines and key priorities.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office eg PowerPoint, Word and Excel (to perform analyses and manage data from CRM, etc) .

Location Oakville: This role is hybrid with 2 days per week in our Oakville office, so candidates must reside in/near the GTA.
