Job Type: Permanent role, 3 days on-site, 12 hour rotating shifts, OT and Double OT available, weekly rotation of day and night shifts. Located in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Insight Global is looking to hire an Electrician to join one of our clients, a leading brewing company in Canada. In this role, your responsibilities can be categorized into three main areas including maintenance and troubleshooting, inspection and compliance, installation and teamwork. - Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on brewery electrical systems and equipment, including motors, panels, control valves, and specialized brewing and packaging equipment.
- Inspection and Compliance: Inspect and repair electrical systems to identify hazards and defects, ensuring compliance with electrical codes. Read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Installation and Teamwork: Install wiring, outlets, switches, and other electrical components. Troubleshoot controls (MCC, PLC5, ControlLogix PLC) and VFDs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable operation of production equipment, adhering to safety, housekeeping, and food-production quality standards.
- MCC = Motor Control Center
- PLC = Programmable Logic Controller
- VFD = Variable Frequency Drive
Requirements:
- 2-3+ years of experience as an electrician, preferably industrial or preventative maintenance experience.
- Interprovincial Red Seal, Licensed Industrial or Construction Electrician. Preference for Industrial Red Seal or Construction Red Seal with industrial experience.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining PLC, instrumentation devices, MCC, VFD, and other production electrical devices. Understanding of ladder logic PLC programming.
- Familiarity with process control and packaging equipment, including PLC5 and ControlLogix PLC, HMIs, user interfaces, PLS, PanelMate, and others.
- Willingness to work shift work, optional overtime, and holidays. Physical ability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, standing for extended periods, working in confined spaces, and at heights.
