Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join the Data Access Protection Squad (DAP). This role focuses on supporting the Varonis infrastructure platform (including DatAdvantage and Data Privilege applications) using DevOps principles. The engineer will contribute to platform maintenance, automation, reporting, and client support, ensuring robust data access protection and audit capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide infrastructure support for Varonis platforms (DatAdvantage and Data Privilege) within a DevOps environment.
- Support Data Protection initiatives and client engagement across Business Units (BU).
- Develop automation tools and scripts to improve platform reliability, operational efficiency, and ongoing project execution.
- Generate reports using DatAdvantage (DA) and Data Privilege (DP) for auditing and compliance purposes.
- Offer training and technical support to business users, promoting best practices in data security and protection.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, utilizing Kanban boards and iterative planning.
- Participate in documentation and continuous improvement of infrastructure and support processes.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Protection, Infrastructure, or IT Security support roles.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of Varonis architecture and associated applications.
- Proficient in file/folder permission models, Active Directory (AD), and data security principles.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and analytical thinking.
- Solid communication skills-able to write documentation, give presentations, and collaborate across teams.
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications (if any)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Experience working in global corporate or financial sector environments.
- Knowledge of Windows security models, including NTFS permissions and Active Directory integration.
- Experience in DevOps, scripting, and automation for platform stability.
- Background in client support and training on data protection tools.
Certifications (if any)
- Certifications in data security, cloud platforms (e.g., Azure Security Engineer, AWS Certified Security), or Varonis are a plus but not required.
Desirable Skills
- Proficient in PowerShell, SQL, and database reporting tools.
- Experience with big data platforms such as Splunk, and reporting/dashboard tools like Grafana.
- General programming/scripting experience and a strong troubleshooting mindset.
- Familiarity with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) models and serverless architecture principles.
