We are on the lookout for a dynamic, self-motivated, and highly organized Real Estate Law Clerk to be a part of our multi-service practice in the heart of downtown Toronto. Learn more about us at Legal Services .

What You'll Do:

  • Manage and prepare residential real estate transactions from start (i.e. opening file in the required software) to finish (i.e. finalizing the accounting and reporting)
  • Conduct, review and properly action all required searches for real estate files
  • Prepare and respond to letters of requisition and registering various types of real estate documents in the Teraview system, including those dealing with: complicated transfers, estate transfers, trust transfers, privates, and others
  • Think critically about the work involved in preparing a real estate file
  • Work closely with TvH partners and staff to acquire understanding of the transaction and ensure timely closing
  • Schedule client meetings and deliver virtual documents for signature
  • Work in a paperless office environment
  • Communicate verbally and in writing in a professional but friendly manner with clients, partners, lenders and other solicitors
  • Contribute ideas to promote the efficiency and growth of the practice
  • Provide exceptional client service, ensuring a positive and supportive experience for all clients before, during and after closing
  • Scheduling deadlines and ensuring they are met
  • Assisting on all other legal files and document preparation as requested
  • Administrative duties as part of the role and in assisting lawyer with the practice

We Need Someone Who Is:

  • Experienced as a Real Estate Law Clerk - minimum 4 years
  • Extremely organized and is ahead of the curve by accurately preparing files well in advance
  • Tech-savvy with excellent IT skills
  • Logical and a problem solver
  • A team player with the ability to work independently
  • Passionate about the job
  • Eager and excited to be part of a growing practice
  • Di ligent, meticulous and detail-oriented
  • Quick learner
  • Strong technical skills
  • Working graciously in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with Lawyer Done Deal, Unity, Teraview, MS Office, Cosmolex
  • Familiar with Nojumi and other technology such as CRM Dynamic 365 and AI
