Design Manager - GAM Digital Products

We are seeking a skilled Design Manager to oversee the operational and strategic aspects of design for GAM's digital products. This role is critical in driving high-quality user experiences and interfaces, ensuring seamless project execution, and fostering design excellence across our product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Design Management

• Manage the end-to-end design process for product development, from ideation to launch, ensuring on-time delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on project goals and achieve key milestones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
• Mentor and develop junior and offshore designers, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.

Design Execution

• Lead the creation of wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for ongoing products.
• Maintain design consistency and quality across multiple platforms and products.
• Incorporate user feedback and research insights to continuously improve product designs.

Collaboration & Communication

• Partner with designers, product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align on design objectives and deliverables.
• Clearly articulate design concepts and rationales to ensure team-wide understanding and buy-in.
• Conduct design reviews to gather feedback and promote iterative improvements.

Experience:

• 8+ years in product design with expertise in design principles, research methodologies, and industry standards.
• Minimum 2 years as a people manager in a large (preferably financial) organization, operating in an agile environment.
• Communication & Facilitation:
• Exceptional communication skills, advocating for the customer, brand, and user experience.
• Proven ability to lead design initiatives and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience facilitating design thinking workshops with diverse teams.
• Problem-Solving:
• Results-driven, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Strong ability to simplify complex design challenges and deliver effective solutions.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in tools such as Figma, MURAL, Adobe Creative Suite, Confluence, and JIRA.
• Advanced visual design expertise (grids, balance, color theory) and deep knowledge of atomic design principles, including symbols, layer styles, and variables.
• Experience building and maintaining design libraries.
