What we are looking for

Reporting to the Vice President, Risk Management, the Director, Enterprise & Payment Product Risk is accountable for leading the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of a sound enterprise risk management program for Payments Canada.

A day in the life

Your responsibilities as the Director, Enterprise and Payment Product Riskinclude but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the enterprise risk framework, along with related policies and standards.
  • Monitor and oversee enterprise and product-related risks.
  • Deliver effective reporting to ensure senior management and the Board of Directors are apprised of Payments Canada's Risk posture.
  • Champion the implementation and change management for a Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) tool.
  • Lead the evolution and implementation of payment product risk oversight and business support.
  • Lead the evolution and implementation of focused payment product risk assessments, and other applicable risk tools and facilitation for product support and oversight.

Stakeholder Engagement & Governance

  • Maintaining a well-established network of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide executive-level support and expertise to the Risk Committee and Board of Directors on areas under ERM/ORM mandate.
  • Deliver effective reporting to ensure senior management and the Board of Directors are apprised of Payments Canada's Risk posture.
  • Communicate the ERM/ORM program to regulators, stakeholders, and across Payments Canada.

Strategic Leadership & Team Development

  • Set the strategic plan for the team using exceptional leadership skills.
  • Provide strong leadership to the divisional team, ensuring the necessary tools and support are in place to enable the team to be successful.
  • Responsible and accountable for all aspects of the talent management cycle (i.e., workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, staff development, succession) for the team, including developing group and individual development plans for team members to support a culture of continuous learning and development.

What you need to be successful

  • Undergraduate degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business or related field.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in ERM and/or ORM in the financial services industry.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience in providing guidance and reporting to senior management.
  • Travel between Toronto and Ottawa will be required.
  • Eligibility to successfully complete background checks that will be carried out by Payments Canada, including criminal, credit, identity, employment, and education checks.

You will really stand out with

  • Experience in implementing GRC tools is considered an asset.

Salary range

  • Based on qualifications and experience: $134,837 to $168,546.
