Inviting applications for the role of QE Engineer

Location: Toronto ON (3 days onsite in a week)

This role is focused on functional testing leadership, business alignment, and stakeholder management. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business, product, and technology teams-bringing in a strong QE process mindset, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of functional flows and end-to-end testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into executable test cases.
  • Organize and lead testing ceremonies, including test planning, daily syncs, and defect triages.
  • Perform ETL and data validation testing using SQL.
  • Collaborate with onshore/offshore teams to drive QE best practices, documentation, and knowledge transfer.
  • Manage status reporting, risk assessments, and communication to senior stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in test processes, documentation, and test coverage.
  • Act as a functional SME, developing domain expertise and championing quality across sprints and releases.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in Quality Engineering or Quality Assurance roles.
  • Expertise in functional testing, test case design, and execution across complex enterprise systems.
  • Proven ability to drive stakeholder discussions, clarify requirements, and manage expectations.
  • Strong understanding of QE methodologies, defect lifecycle, and risk-based testing approaches.
  • Hands-on with SQL and ETL testing.
  • Skilled in organizing and leading meetings, driving consensus, and reporting effectively.
  • Domain knowledge in financial services or enterprise systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology and working with distributed teams.

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to Azure Cloud tools and environments.
  • Experience with software development concepts and tools like GitHub.
