Precision Record Pressing is a leading vinyl record pressing company with multiple locations in the Greater Toronto Area. We are currently looking for Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our Burlington/Oakville team. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity that will be responsible for optimizing machinery output, installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment that supports the pressing and high-speed packaging operations. We are looking for a positive, energetic person who is highly motivated and wants to work in a team environment!

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and execution of our preventative maintenance program through scheduled downtime and autonomously, on all manufacturing and packaging equipment
  • Repair, rework, or calibrate hydraulic or pneumatic assemblies or systems to meet operational specifications or tolerances
  • Test performance of electrical, electronic, mechanical, integrated systems or equipment
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all packaging equipment which includes belts, feeding mechanisms, motors, photo-eyes, sealing units, relays, control systems and more
  • Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly
  • Troubleshooting of PLC controller programming, sensor inputs/outputs, and ensure proper communication between devices
  • Participate in health and safety audits and corrective actions
  • Analyze failures and make suggestions to prevent recurrence
  • Define and evaluate current methods for continuous improvements
  • Ensure equipment safety devices are intact through inspection and testing
  • Liaison with all internal teams, Precision Management Team, contractors, and suppliers
  • From a process description and/or drawing, perform modifications to improve equipment and processes and install as required
  • Work in conjunction with Engineering and Automation team members
  • Support capital projects as required
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager, Team Leader or designate

Physical Demands

  • Required to stand for long periods of time (duration of shift)
  • Involves repetitive motions for duration of shift; use of hands and wrist continuously in a controlled environment
  • Engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers
  • Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather conditions
  • Must be able to carry, push, pull or lift up to 75lbs throughout shift
  • Adaptable to relative sound pressure levels

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Electro-mechanical Technician Diploma
  • Minimum 2-5 years relevant experience in the field of electromechanics; strong mechanical, electrical and technical background
  • Knowledge of various applicable legislation, including but not limited to, Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA)
  • Demonstrated experience with PLC programming strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with high-speed packaging lines
  • Embraces change and has a continuous improvement mindset
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to quickly understand and identify issues and implement solutions
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to work both as an individual and as part of a team
  • Ability to achieve results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • This role will require you to work in a 2-shift operation
  • Must be able to wear PPE; CSA approved safety shoes required at a minimum
  • Ability to work overtime as business needs require; this position requires on call-availability to support a 2-shift operation
  • Access to a reliable vehicle; this position requires travel between our Burlington and Oakville sites

Compensation details: 30-30 Hourly Wage
