Reporting to the Manager of North American Payroll this is an important role managing and coordinating payroll processing operations. You will be responsible for overseeing a large team supporting and troubleshooting whilst maintaining payroll processing systems in a timely manner. The Payroll Manager will have thorough knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations.

In a typical day, YOU will:

  • Be responsible for overseeing and directing payroll procedures and best practices
  • Develop processes and system upgrades (manage codes/rules) to meet internal and external audit requirements
  • Coordinate timekeeping records and maintain employee data
  • Ensuring records and processes comply with company and legal regulations
  • Liaise with auditors and manage payroll audits
  • Supervise and coach the team in best practices, governance and regulations
  • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations and annual regulatory filings

Must-haves for this role:

  • Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a payroll management, a minimum 8+ years of applicable payroll experience
  • Professional certification PCP is a requirement and CPM is considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset
  • Strong computer skills; MS Office Suite (Intermediate level in Excel), as well as HRIS (UKG preferred)

  • Professional, show good judgment and a positive attitude
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize and be detail oriented
