INDUSTRIAL MECHANIC - FOOD
Requirements:
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical & pneumatic systems
- An understanding of electrical control systems, PLC's, drives, motors & gear boxes.
- Candidate should have technical background and strong familiarity with machine maintenance.
- This role involves troubleshooting and ensuring that all machinery operates safely and efficiently to support continuous production.
- The ideal candidate is skilled in mechanical repairs, understands food safety standards, and is proactive in identifying and resolving issues.
- Facility includes tablet press operation, semi-automated packaging lines including tablet filling, over wrapping and blister packing and integrated warehouse.
- Must be able to read and comprehend machine blueprints and manuals
- Must be able to work on ladders, work in tight areas as needed.
- Must be able to use standard shop power tools such as drill press, Sawzall and grinders.
- Able to communicate proficiently in English.
Responsibilities include:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair food processing machinery and mechanical systems.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Install and test new machinery or equipment upgrades as required by production needs.
- Ensure all installations meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and protocols to protect both the facility and its personnel.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and parts replacements.
- Suggest and implement improvements to equipment performance and reliability.
Qualifications:
Experience: 3+ years as an Industrial Mechanic, preferable in a food manufacturing or related industry.
Education: High School,
Certifications: Any related certifications would be an asset.
Ideal candidate will need to multitask at times, also may be asked to work overtime to complete a task if urgent. Also a valid drivers licence would be a plus.
