The Sr Field Support Representative (FSR) provides comprehensive support and mentoring to users in the field on any supported communications system.
Sr FSR Tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Mentor operational user on the use of LC4ISR Capabilities
- Providing training, mentorship, guidance and support (both in the classroom & in the field) to users at Canadian Forces bases and the Canadian Signals Training Centre;
- Working with System Integration Teams as the Subject Matter Expert;
- Assisting with installation and maintenance issues;
- Communicating issues between users and members of the Integrated Project Team;
- Reporting, diagnosing and developing workarounds for problems with the System, and all of the System's functionality, hardware, software, firmware, operating manuals, training and usage;
- Providing written reports identifying observations from the field, to include but not limited to, the delivered baseline, equipment, procedures and training;
- Providing reports detailing solutions that have been created in the field;
- Providing ongoing feedback from the field force, as required;
- Assessing the usage of the System and recommending changes to training and standard operating procedures as required;
- Assisting with field upgrades, installation, re-installation and modification; and
- Other duties as and when needed.
Duties of Mission Specialists include, but are not limited to:
Business Analysis:
- Works with Military Establishment and Operational Community to elicit requirements, identify and elaborate statements of need and/or capability deficiencies including rationale for change and value-added for the end-user.
- Develops high-level solutions, from an operational perspective, designed to address identified statements of need and/or capability deficiencies that realize the desired value-added and meeting end-user expectations.
- Assists in the translation of operational requirements into technical specifications ensuring usability of derived technical specifications.
- Contributes to system level test planning and execution to ensure that solutions are, tested in an appropriate operational context ensuring fitness-for-purpose.
Military Operations:
- Liaise with Military Establishments and the Operational Community to plan and execute test, trial, and fielding events.
- Provides on-site and remote subject-matter expertise during test, trial, and fielding events.
- Perform Technical Usage, Operator Usability, and Operational Workflow impact assessments.
- Elaborate new and update existing Operational Use Cases and Mission Threads.
- Assess system elements in terms of their impact on installation, configuration, management, operation, and usability.
- Relate Military doctrine to existing and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for technology insertion and/or doctrine evolution/adaptation.
- Articulates findings and recommendations to Land C4ISR System Architects and/or partnered Military Establishment stakeholders.
Technical Competencies:
- Uses own subject-matter expertise of Land C4ISR System and knowledge of Military doctrine to anticipate future end-user needs and deficiencies. Uses this insight to aid in shaping product roadmaps.
- Provides technical guidance and support to end users regarding the installation, configuration, management, operation, and use of Land C4ISR System elements.
- Articulates end user input and feedback to Land C4ISR System engineering teams in terms of impact on installation, configuration, management, operation, and usability of the equipment.
- Provides technical guidance and support to System Integration and Test including review of test cases, resolution of test discrepancies and analysis of test results.
- Operates within the Systems Engineering team to define and document capabilities in forms including Capability Descriptions, Scope Statements, Concept of Operations, and Operational Use Cases based on Business Analyses.
- Provides support to Program Management for the development and execution of engineering plans, processes, and schedules.

Experience Required for both positions:
Must have minimum ten (10) years of military experience in any trade.
Demonstrated leadership ability.
Preference will be given to candidates who have attained a rank of WO or higher.
Security Requirements:
- Applicants must be Canadian citizens who are able to obtain and maintain a Secret Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment.
- Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations.
