Our client, a chartered professional accounting firm providing comprehensive personal and business accounting services tailored to a wide range of client needs, is currently looking for a Senior Manager to join their team. This role will work closely with the firms partners to deliver exceptional service and tailored solutions to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a blended workload that includes both hands on accounting and higher level file oversight.
  • Compile year-end corporate files, including financial statements, tax returns, and accompanying note disclosures.
  • Take the lead in preparing review engagement files, demonstrating strong expertise in Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).
  • Prepare personal income tax returns with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide corporate and personal tax planning.
  • Review GST filings and be available to support broader tax compliance needs when required.
  • Liaise with legal professionals on complex files as needed.
  • Review and provide feedback on files completed by junior team members, while managing and coordinating engagement teams.
  • Mentor and guide junior accounting staff to support their professional development.
  • Actively contribute to the firms strategic objectives and continuous process improvements.

Key Requirements:

  • CPA designation is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a Canadian public accounting firm.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian ASPE, tax legislation, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, CaseWare, Tax Cycle, QuickBooks Online, Sage and other various accounting software.
  • Experience or familiarity with insurance-related accounting is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and client service.
