A busy legal practice is seeking a skilled and proactive Legal Administrative Assistant/Paralegal to join their team. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work independently on a range of files related to insolvency & foreclosure, estate litigation, and estate administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft court documents including pleadings, petitions, affidavits, and notices of application (including s.92 applications)
- Prepare and file Certificates of Pending Litigation with the Land Titles Office
- Handle electronic court filings and conduct online searches
- Prepare documents and correspondence related to estate litigation and administration
- Manage day-to-day file administration, including time entry and document management
- Respond to inquiries and correspondence in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with trial preparation when required
- Perform additional duties as needed
What You Bring:
- Intermediate to senior experience as a LAA/Paralegal
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Professional communication skills (written and verbal), with a strong client-service approach
- Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to work independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; familiarity with iManage/FileSite and Elite 3E is an asset
- Knowledge of foreclosure processes, real estate transactions, and estate procedures preferred
