Position Title: GIS & Enterprise Data Integration Solutions Architect

Due to continued growth, we're seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to lead and support high-value implementation projects in GIS and data integration. This role spans presales and delivery-supporting solution design, implementation, training, and contributing to new service development.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in geospatial and enterprise data integration technologies, with experience in AEC, utilities, or government environments. If you're a motivated team player passionate about problem-solving and technology, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
• Partner with sales to uncover service opportunities via discovery calls, business process assessments, and demos.
• Present proof-of-concepts and evaluate third-party solutions as needed.
• Build lasting relationships with clients through regular communication and proactive outreach.
• Provide expert consulting, implementation, training, and technical support across GIS and Infrastructure platforms.
• Document deliverables such as statements of work, assessment findings, recommendations, and training materials.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and continuously enhance domain expertise.
• Collaborate with your team leader to develop new services and improve delivery methodologies.
• Maintain accurate CRM records including client interactions, support cases, and billing time.
• Support marketing initiatives by contributing to case studies, success stories, and technical presentations.
• Contribute to internal team meetings and strategy sessions.
Job Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in geospatial consulting, with a focus on CAD/GIS integration, data workflows, and infrastructure-related solutions.
• Advanced proficiency with Safe Software's FME Platform (Desktop/Form & Server/Flow).
• Familiarity with design and geospatial workflows, including adherence to industry-specific CAD/GIS standards.
• Familiarity with API Integrations. Ie. (ArcGIS, SharePoint, Autodesk)
• Proficiency in software deployment concepts, licensing, configuration, templates, standards, and content management.
• Proven experience delivering professional services, training, implementation, and technical support for geospatial solutions.
• Strong documentation and communication skills for developing training materials, solution designs, and technical proposals.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze client needs and provide tailored responses, including business cases, statements of work (SOWs), and solution recommendations.
• Ability to lead business process assessments, discovery sessions, and technology demonstrations.
• Experience identifying customer requirements and aligning services and technologies to business needs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage workloads independently under tight deadlines.
• Organized and detail-oriented with a proactive approach to task ownership and problem-solving.
• Comfortable collaborating with diverse internal teams and engaging directly with clients.
• Willingness to travel across Canada, estimated at fewer than 10 days per year if required.

Nice to have:
• Experience administering or supporting CAD/document management systems.
• FME Server/Flow Certification.
• Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS technologies (Desktop and Enterprise environments).
• GIS-related certifications (e.g., ESRI Desktop, Developer, or Administrator).
• Experience with database technologies (e.g., MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL/PostGIS).
• Familiarity with scripting or development using Python (ArcPy) or C#/VB.NET.
• Experience developing or customizing CAD-based applications or add-ons.
Compensation & Reporting
• Compensation: Base salary plus performance-based commission and full benefits.
• Reports To: Professional Services Manager - Infrastructure/GIS.
Location & Work Environment
• This is a remote-first position. Preference will be given to candidates located in the Pacific Time Zone, ideally in British Columbia.
• Work can be performed from a home office anywhere in Canada, or optionally from a nearby SolidCAD or Cansel office.
